FAQ's
1. Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we recommend booking your session in advance to secure your spot. Availability can be limited, especially during peak times.
2. What should I bring?
**Kit List – What to Bring** To make the most of your experience, and ensure your safety, we recommend bringing the following: - Swimwear: Wear this under your clothing when you arrive. - Appropriate footwear: It's a 5-10 minute walk down to the sauna and with winter on it’s way - mud is inevitable (wellies or boots recommended) - Closed toe shoes : comfortable shoes to wear in and around the loch - Swim boots and gloves (recommended with current water temperates below 8 degrees C) - Hat and gloves for warmth between dips. - Extra Layers - Water bottle, to keep yourself hydrated throughout your session
3. Do I need to fill out a form?
Yes, you must complete our waiver before participating. You can fill it out online here: https://www.rvival.co.uk/waiver-sauna Without completing this form, you will not be able to use the sauna or swim in the loch.
4. Do you have to swim in the river?
No, swimming is entirely optional. You can enjoy the sauna without taking a dip if you prefer.
4. Is wild swimming at this time of year safe?
Getting into cold waters can be invigorating and beneficial for health, but it’s important to listen to your body. If you have any health conditions, please consult your doctor before participating.
5. How long does the experience last?
Your session lasts 1 hour, during which you can alternate between the sauna and optional dips in the river.
7. Is the sauna private?
When booking through our website, you can choose between Exclusive use or a shared experience. The sauna can seat up to 12 guests. Shared sessions are £30 per person for the hour. Exclusive use sessions are £120 for the hour for group sizes of up to 12 people. Get in touch directly to arrange for groups larger than 12 ailish@rvival.co.uk
8. Can I book multiple sessions during my stay?
Yes! If you’d like to book another session, you can check availability and reserve your spot on our booking page.
9. What happens if it rains?
Our sauna area is designed to be amongst the elements of the weather to give you the full nature immersive experience, so your session will still go ahead. In fact, some guests say the experience is even more magical in the rain!
10. What’s provided during the experience?
We’ll provide: A towel and dry robe Herbal teas in the tipi Water to ensure you stay hydrated Guidance from our team to ensure you make the most of your session.
11. How do I get to the sauna?
After completing your online wavier and collecting your robe and towel from the RVIVAL tipi (located next to Monachyle Mhor car park), take a short stroll down to the meadow with a member of the team, who will show you where to go and talk you through the experience.
12. Can I book use of the sauna for a large group?

13. What happens if I am late?
If you know you will be late, please phone us! Monachyle Mhor: 01877 384622 RVIVAL: 07938924806 If a client runs later than 20 minutes after their scheduled booking - we will have to cancel their session. A member of staff will show you to the restaurant, we will try our best to fit you in with another booking later in the day if possible though same day availability not always guaranteed.
14. What are the changing and shower facilities?
At the end of your session, residents have the option to take their dry robe back to their room to get changed. For non residents, you can either get changed in our tipi or your guide will show you to the toilets. Please note: There are no showers available for after your session if you are not staying at the hotel.

We have never done anything like this before, but we can confidently say that the Sauna and Swim experience was fantastic and that we will be doing it again. The young woman from Rvival (sorry, I can't remember her name) couldn't have been more helpful and gave us all the information that we needed, and more.
